Linnea Fox

Linnea Fox is responsible for producing the annual the V-Dem dataset and for maintaining and developing the V-Dem data infrastructures. This includes maintaining relational tables, that are used for the dataset construction pipeline and data collection interface. Linnea’s tasks center around developing scripts for the dataset construction pipeline in programming languages, predominately in R, PostgreSQL, Bash, and LaTex. She also works with scripts in JAGS, and Stan, and STATA.

Programming tasks include quality control checks, data cleaning, running and managing V-Dem’s Bayesian item response theory measurement model, running index aggregations using the V-Dem Bayesian factor analysis model, and the construction of the annual V-Dem dataset. She develops and maintains V-Dem’s public and internal R packages.

Additionally, Linnea works together with the Methods team on research projects related to the measurement model.
