Workshop at the V-Dem Regional Center for Central Asia

The Department of International and Comparative Politics of American University of Central Asia held on November 30, 2017 an inaugural workshop of a newly created V-Dem Regional Center for Central Asia. The regional center is envisioned to be not only a hub for data collection, but also a place for academic and policy research on political developments in Central Asia. The workshop brought together scholars from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, as well as experts and civil society organizations and discussed how the new center could facilitate studying and measuring political regime dynamics in the region.
